Large airports use a “point merge system” in STAR.
It would be nice if ATC instruct shortcut the STAR and direct to IAF ,when separation management is not required.
Also, if possible, it would be easier for flights if handoffs between ACC and APP/DEP were based on ACA rather than simple distance to the airport.
Example: RJTT XAC ARR, Tokyo ACA
