It would be useful for approach planning in flight, to be able to ask Center for the active runways at destination airport in the flight plan, before reaching TOD, in order to have some time to enter / alter flight planning. Or, since BATC is deciding active runways based on its own METAR, to show the active runway that you will be assigned in the text that appears on the Frequencies page under ATIS.
