I’m not sure what it like at other airports but I’ve listened to EIDW a lot and they frequently tell pilots to climb via SID or to climb to a set altitude and ignore SID restrictions.
Would be much clearer in BATC if the controller informed wether or not you are climbing via SID or ignoring as at the moment it just says climb to a set altitude and it’s not clear if you can climb freely or have to maintain constraints
