With button controlled coms, I accidentally hit my assigned primary key on several occasions during climb out, resulting in a accidental descent request. problem is, ATC isn’t aware of how unreasonable this is (climbing throug 5000ft, 2min after takeoff, still hours away from my destination) and will grant that descent, sending me to a lower altitude and clearing me for the approach via STAR. this makes no sense and then results in ATC thinking I’m already on the approach and won’t give me any further instructions to climb to my cruise alt of course.
ATC should be aware that descent or approach request are unreasonable from a certain distance to the destination.
